Woooooot!!!

This doesn't make a difference in anyone else's life but I have got to share - Tyler has slept through the night for two nights in a row now and I'm counting on a third one tonight.

I think, being a first time mom and all, I did very very well except for the sleeping part. It didn't help that he was a colicky newborn that the only thing that made him stop crying was mommy's presence. We started co-sleeping and trust me, I can't even count the times we tried to put the little rugrat in his own bed... each time we failed miserably. Just last month, I was successful for 3 nights getting him off the boob and having him sleep on his own in his crib but it didn't last long. I couldn't take much of the hours of crying anymore and decided to take it one step at a time. Now he still sleeps with us but puts himself to sleep and now he is sleeping through the night. A good start towards the right direction. Soon, we will love him in his crib but I don't think it won't be until he understands bribes.

This is a mistake I will not repeat on my second child though, that much I can promise!

iPhone Talk

I was able to jailbreak Tony's iPhone and now his phone, though older version, is now cooler than mine. I don't want to void the warranty on my brand new iPhone so it has to remain boring for a while.

I tell you, I am so addicted to my iPhone. I see me pressing buttons the majority of the day! I have to charge it everyday, sometimes twice, sometimes thrice... it's crazy! I have an app that keeps track of previously-paid-now-free cool stuff so I download like there is no tomorrow. I just feel so naked when my phone is not nearby. It just doesn't feel healthy anymore. Like now,
I'm blogging while supposedly sleeping and I'm gonna play a couple of my favorite games right after this. It's madness!!!

50 Years

Seriously, I had no idea July was long gone! I woke up today not knowing we were in a new month! Time flew!!!

Saturday, we looked at several houses in Simi. We fell in love with s 1600-sq ft house with a super huge backyard and a super huge pool! I didn't even want to look after that! It's a cute little starter home (although we might have to knock down a wall to make room for our dining table) with hardwood floors, granite countertops, nice new bathrooms, new appliances. The house is really old but it is very well maintained and it's just sooo perfect! Here is the but... But, it's too overpriced! It was a flip, those not familiar with real estate lingo, I guess that means it was a short sale bought by an agent who is now selling it as a regular sale. This guy fixed it up well but put 100K on top of the price he bought it for. So that's probably a deal breaker but I'm sure it is open for negotiation. But my not having a job might be another hindrance so we will see.

My dad's parents celebrated their 50th anniversary today. 50th!!! It's incredible! Tony and I are celebrating our 2nd on Sunday. 2 years feel like forever!!! Haha! I don't know if we can last 48 more years without biting each other's head off! LOL!!!

Sorry I'm jumping from one topic to another here but Tony is spending the night over at his mom's house tonight. He is picking up an employee of his from the airport tomorrow at Burbank and he didn't want to make the drive from Oxnard. It's weird not having him in the bed. I feel so lonely! It just made me think that life is so different now, I just can't imagine it without my two boys. They are my life... This feeling gives me confidence that we are going to last 50 years and more...

Update! Update!

Okay, here is the scoop. I downloaded an iPhone app called pixelpipe and this I hope will give me enough motivation to update my blog more often. It provides the convenience of posting using my iPhone without having to log in each time.

First thing first: Texas. It is not going to happen! We backed out of the house. Tony went through series of interviews, feeling good about it. They liked him a lot and his management style just for them to come back and say they selected him among all the applicants but because he did not have mortgage experience, they offered him less money than what he asked for. BULLSHIT! Tony makes a lot more than what they were offering right now and what the hell is the point of moving his family halfway across the country starting with nothing and making less. Stupid bastards! Very insulting! We don't understand why the f*ck they went on an on with the interview knowing very well from the get go he didn't have mortgage experience. Tony was turned off about the whole thing and we decided to forget about Texas altogether.

There!

However, we are still looking to purchase a house in California. Of course we can never afford a brand new 4000-sq ft mansion here and we will probably end up with a 1200-sq ft fixer-upper and triple the price, but it'd be a good start. We looked at houses in the Canoga Park area (close to Tony's home town) and liked two of the houses we saw. Tomorrow, Saturday, we are looking in Simi Valley where we used to live. It goes without saying though that I need to find a job first before we can afford anything. Freaking Southern California, economy sucks and everything is still very expensive!

In other news, I am starting to wean Tyler off the breast! This gives some of my freedom back, my caffeine and margaritas! I was okay with it as long as he liked it but sleeping has lately been very harsh. He would wake up about 3 times at night and nothing would make him stop crying but the breast. So I stopped nursing him during bed time and this will be our second week and he is sleeping much better!

A part of me is very sad though because it feels like we are losing that connection. When he was born and we were bombarded with visitors who wanted to hold him, I liked our nursing time very much because it gave us a full hour every three hours, everyday, together. He survived the first 6 months just having me as his source of food. Now he is a big boy eating everything he could get his hands on and weaning him tells me he is growing up. It's a little sad he is no longer a baby. I can almost say I want another baby. Almost.

Hooray to pixelpipe! I can update my blog and fb at the same time using my phone! I don't have time to use the computer so I can never find time to update my blog. But yay! My blog readers (if there's any left hehe), I promise to be a bit more active now.
